Tampa Bay and Vancouver each scored again in the 3rd sending it to Overtime.
Ed Jovanovski thought he scored in Overtime as the Referee blew a quick whistle and called off the Goal.

Shots on Goal: Anaheim 31 - Vancouver 25

There were several giveaways by the Ducks tonight but they wound up outshooting the Canucks by a few shots.
A wonderful goal by Henrik Sedin who made it look easy.
Then a strange goal by Todd Simpson at a bad angle from a distance at the goal line seemed to rattle Vancouver.
Vaclav Prospal scoring later in the 2nd Period put Anaheim ahead 2-1.
Daniel Sedin was streaking to the net trailed by Ed Jovanovski when Vitaly Vishnevski sent Daniel Sedin falling to the ice.
A penalty shot was then called with the chance for the Canucks to tie the game, but Daniel Sedin was stopped by Goalie Giguere.

January 15th - Game Day ReCap
Goalie: Evjeni Nabokov for San Jose Sharks
Goalie: Dan Cloutier for Vancouver Canucks
1st Period: San Jose Goal Alex Korolyuk (assists Alyn McCauley, Mike Rathje) 11:46 of the 1st

Shots on Goal: Vancouver 35 - San Jose 30

Vancouver had no shots on goal in the first ten minutes of the game but had plenty of good shots afterwards.
Alex Korolyuk put the puck in the net on a wrap-around as Dan Cloutier wriggled the net off its supports,
putting the goal under video review but officials ruling it was a San Jose goal.
The second San Jose goal was scored by Jonathan Cheechoo
after a bouncing puck went over Marek Malik's stick as he tried to defend.
There was no scoring in the 2nd Period.  Henrik Sedin had four whacks at the puck close in to the net but the puck stayed out.
Mike Rathje was holding Todd Bertuzzi's stick, knocking Bertuzzi down with no penalty call on Rathje.
Bertuzzi then used his own stick to hit the ice after the non-call and received an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for it.
In the 3rd Period: 19 seconds after a San Jose goal, Vancouver was able
to beat Goalie Evjeni Nabokov on a shot by Markus Naslund with assists by Jason King and Brandon Reid.
In the last couple of minutes of the game Vancouver pulls Goalie Cloutier but are unable to score with the extra attacker.
A good effort against a hot goalie, a good team and a few bad bounces.

A solid team effort on defence for the Canucks tonight.  Markus Naslund did well, scoring twice and assisting
on Ed Jovanovski's goal as Todd Bertuzzi screened the net in the 1st Period.
Dan Cloutier and Mike Sillinger got penalties for roughing in the 2nd Period.

A giveaway in the 1st Period and a penalty in the 2nd allowed Valeri Bure to score twice and
the Canucks found themselves behind 2-0 going into the 3rd.  The Canucks tied the game sending it into overtime
but found themselves in trouble again after Henrik Sedin's stick was lifted by Florida and he received a high sticking penalty.
They managed to kill the penalty and with 12.6 seconds left in overtime,

Some outstanding saves by Cloutier kept the Canucks in the game along with their strong offensive effort and
