March 9th, 2004:

Hi There,

My name is Lisa and I am a huge Todd Bertuzzi fan.  I am just writing in to let him know I support him during this hard time for him.  He probably is hearing alot of negative comments and yes what he did was wrong but I know it was never intentional.   Hang in there Todd!!  I hope this e-mail finds you and maybe helps a little.

Always a Bertuzzi fan,

Lisa P.

March 11th, 2004:

I am writing in regards to the March 8th Vancouver Canucks game against the Colorado Avalanche.  No doubt after the Todd Bertuzzi incident which resulted in the unfortunate injury to Steve Moore, there will be public reaction for quite some time to come, raising questions both about why it happened in the first place and in the punishment assessed for the consequence of the action that took place that night.  I would like to express my sympathy to Steve Moore and wish him a full recovery.  As a Canucks fan and fan of the game, I am also aware that players must face the reality of their actions even though they are not intending to inflict harm.  This may or may not be a result of a problem that seems to be apparent throughout the league where there are questionable calls and non-penalty calls by the officials which happen from game to game.  Do I think the disciplinary action taken for the Todd Bertuzzi hit was fair?  My simple answer to that is no.  With a player of Bertuzzi's caliber and character, I feel that he has become a victim of circumstance and that perhaps the league is attempting to set an example of him in regards to the severity of the suspension.  The whole incident has now left a scar on the game but the game will go on.  Vancouver must now pull together as a team and as a city we will continue to show our support for the game we have grown to love.

July 9th, 2004:

This fan has been a fan since 1974 and I will forever support the Vancouver Canucks, I'm definitely not a band wagon fan - my loyalties will be with Vancouver Canucks always. What amazes me is the lack of year round support for the Canucks. Where I reside there is not one household that misses a Canucks game. There is unfairness in the mishap with Mr. Bertuzzi and this supporter believes he shouldn't be the lone attacker charged. How many times the television replayed the incident and how many other players landed on Bertuzzi. My belief is Bertuzzi should not have to go to court alone on this matter and should include all the other players that landed on top of him.

August 26th, 2004:

Hi All,

Please get this email to Todd's lawyers.

I am not a Vancourver fan or Todd Bertuzzi, however I feel he is being made a scapegoat for the real people that should be on trial the NHL.  tHEY CONDONE ENFORCEMENT OF they players by actions like Todds.  They put the onus on the players to get even on a cheap hit on their star players including goalies.  They encourage this behaviour by doing nothing when an occurence occurs thus encouraging more behaviuour like this.  This NHL is the real people on trial.

You must ask this if the league was serious-

Why do they not penalize the intent instead of the result?  This way noone will even intend to injure.

In every fight there is an intent to injure ,  and the NHL CONDONES this behaviour.

In every fight the fight always takes his glove off for one reason and that is  to cause more injury to the opponent.

Let us be realistic.  It was one punch  will a glove on.

Lost of times sucker punches occer or sticks are swung at heads(Wade Belak) with definite intent and only gets a slap in the face.
Todd is being roasted unfairly.

The NHL are a bunch of cowards with noone coming to his defense.  I hope the best for Todds trial and feel he should also introduce his own LAWSUIT  ON THE NHL.

February 2nd, 2005:

Dear Mr. Bertuzzi—

I just wanted to send you birthday greetings from Houston, Texas.

I also wanted to tell you what a great fan I am, and how proud of the way you stood up and took responsibility for what happened last        season.  What you did was good for hockey and showed what a class person you are, that you were not afraid to say that you were wrong.     Although I am a loyal Red Wings fan, I bought one of your jerseys and I wear it proudly—and often.

I hope to see you—and the rest of the NHL—playing hockey very soon.

        Sincerely,

        Tammy Langley

November 9th, 2005:

I hope this message gets to you Todd!!

On Wed. Nov.2 against Minnesota Wild (during practice) I waved at you and you actually stopped and thought you recognized me.  I was so stunned and obviously happy.  Not only was I happy but my 18 month son was estatic.  He then learned the word, "puck"
from that game.  It was the best first time experience for my boy ever!!

Todd Bertuzzi fan forever,

Amy from Vancouver
